If Big Brother is looking over our shoulder and we live in a Nanny Society, I know a group of people that need to be spanked: Chicago Slumlords.  In a city of over 3 Million people with high rents and a pressing need for affordable housing, tenants are at the bottom of an unfavorable power structure.  The city steps up some code enforcement after a porch collapse kills a number of people or some more die in a preventable building fire.  The truth is, code enforcement is weak and erratic at best.  Let us all use the power of communication to level the playing field.  When troubled properties and bad owners languish without income, slumlords will learn to fix their buildings because the public will be watching.
